Pacers in Poznan !!

Hi All,

This is the penultimate update of the year, with track also concluding on Monday 22nd December and not returning until Monday 5th January. We do have our Christmas Social Run and Cross Country Training on Sunday 28th December at Nowton Park, more details on this next week, and lots of members will be at parkrun in Nowton Park on Christmas Day.

On Sunday it was the Let it Snow Trail Half Marathon and Phil Green recorded a fine top ten finish in 1.35, brilliant run Phil. Terry Nippress was next Pacer to finish in another great time of 1.52, followed by Andrew Ward, Max Clemens and Anita Ward. Great running all on a difficult course. Well done to Fran Cole for volunteering too as tail walker.

Over the weekend a group of us travelled to Poznan in Poland for the Hyrox event. For many it was their first go at this functional fitness event, which includes a fair amount of running and eight stations varying from rowing to sled pulls and pushes. Three of our pairs managed podium finishes in their age categories including:
Phil and Claire Brown second in the mixed pairs
Todd Lewis and Rob Wallace second in the mens pairs
Ian Gooderham and Dean Harman third in the mens pro pairs
We also had top ten finishes for Chris Harman and Emily Gooderham in the mixed pairs and Todd, Rob, myself and Sharon White finished ninth in the mixed pairs relay.

Well done to everyone for amazing performances, to Chris for coaching us all and to everyone on the trip who supported each other at the level we expect from Team Pacers!!

Hyrox is a great way to improve your strength as well as your running, if you fancy giving it a go do let myself or Chris Harman know as he kindly runs a session for us on Friday evenings at Iron Island.

Sunday Socials and Training
We will be meeting on Sunday at Nowton Park at 9am for our usual Cross Country training and will be joined by Stowmarket Striders for our session. Please keep an eye on Whatsapp for the details of the usual road run.

County Cross County Championships
A reminder that entries for this close on 27th December for this event in Hadleigh on Sunday 4th January. These races are open to everyone – Juniors and Seniors, and a great way to enjoy even more mid through this winter.
