Winter has arrived!

Hi All,

It was amazing to see so many Pacers at Woodbridge yesterday, every single runner makes a huge difference to our overall score and it look like most of us finished strong and enjoyed the drier conditions underfoot than in previous years. There were a couple of injuries out on the course, I hope those affected are okay and back running soon. Well done to all of those who ran, our record number of 68 runners should help keep other teams at bay but the full results won’t be out for a week or so. Thank you to all those who helped, particularly Mel for making sure the results were recorded and Ian for putting up the gazebo.

I know many of you are itching to see the Grand Prix results, it was a mammoth task to get them done with so many runners on our team sheet so please do let me know if you spot any issues. Trophies will be awarded to first three in every category where runners have completed at least three events at the Awards evening on Friday 16th January. Ian is busy working out the 2026 races and I shall send the list soon so you can get planning and entering up those on the agenda.

2025 Senior Grand Prix Results

A quick reminder of the dates for the next four events in the Suffolk Winter League, as ever we really do need as many members as we can at each one to try and win the league once again and do Ian proud!

Stowmarket – 11th January
Bungay – 25th January
Bury – 8th February
Haverhill – 15th February

And do not forgot if you want to enter Suffolk County Championships at Hadleigh on 4th January, entries close 19th December. Enter here.

Races are slowing down with Christmas approaching but I did spot a few Pacers out at other events including Steven Quercia-Smale who recorded an insane 14.58 over 5k in London – amazing running, well done!

A reminder will be conducting the London Marathon draw on Wednesday (3rd December) before our track session for the two spots granted to the club via the England Athletics scheme.

Sunday Social Runs
This Sunday both the roadies and mud lovers will be meeting at Nowton Park for a cross country training session and 10 mile social run. Meet in the car park at 9am if you would like to join either of these runs.
**Please note there is no Cross country Training, due to the park being used for an event.**

Dates for the Diary – more details to come soon
Christmas Social Run, Nowton Park, 28th December
Pacers/Runger Event, Abbeycroft Track, Friday 9th January
Annual Awards Evening, Friday 16th January

Please note the final track session of the year will be Monday 22nd December and we will then break for the festive period, with sessions resuming on Monday 5th January.

Have a great week!

Lara
