Bury Friday 5

Part of the Friday 5 series

The Bury Friday 5 is one of six races that make up the Friday 5 Series. The Senior event is a 5 mile race starting in Nowton Park which passes through the park for the first 1.5 miles before heading onto private land at High Green and then onward to Nowton village, before returning to Nowton Park for the finish. There are also two Junior races that stay within the park itself.

Although this is part of the Friday 5 Series many local runners choose to run this race without taking part in the Series.

In addition to the Senior Series, there is also a Junior Series with junior races taking place prior to the senior race at each event.

Facilities

There will be a Help Desk and toilet facilities, including a toilet with wheelchair access.

There will be refreshments, including a burger van and ice cream van.

No baggage area will be provided as parking is so close to the Start/Finish area.

We will provide appropriate medical support should it be required. In an emergency please go to the nearest marshal. Competitors are requested NOT to run if they feel unwell or feel they are unfit to race.

Parking

Parking is at Race HQ – Nowton Park, Bury Rd, Bury Saint Edmunds IP29 5LU

The race will start and finish at Race HQ. We recommend you arrive at least 45 minutes before the race starts to allow time to collect your race number.

Important race day information

All participants will be emailed just prior to Race Day with full details.

Use of personal audio devices and earphones of any description are not permitted during the race.

There will be a cut-off time of two hours from the start of the race. This means there will be no marshals or support vehicles from this point.

There will be a water station at the end of the course; we encourage all competitors to carry their own water during the race.

A copy of the Risk Assessment is available from the Race Director upon request.
