Dear All,

I think the most popular race for Pacers was the Scenic 7 on Sunday hosted by our neighbour’s Stowmarket Striders. This race was also part of the Pacers Grand Prix, which now has just one race before it reaches its annual conclusion – the cross country event at Woodbridge at the end of the month.

The Scenic 7 race saw some amazing performances from our members, including James O’Brien in second place and Chris Mower in sixth. We had a 1-2 in the women’s race too with Katie King and Gem Carter taking the podium spots. There were also age category wins for; Cath Jeffery, Stacey Mockford, Jenny Morgan, Chris Mower and Andrew Southwood, congratulations to you all and everyone who ran a PB in this race.

On Saturday Howard Beasley set a target and achieved it – taking a new club v65 record with a 19.11 5k!!  This is an amazing time and no doubt Howard will be taking out some more records in the coming months. Well done.

Cross Country Training/Social Run
Please meet at Nowton Park (keep an eye on Whatsapp as social run may go from Leisure Centre) at 9am on Sunday if you would like to join these sessions.

Some dates for your diary:
No cross country training on Sunday 7th December due to an event in the park.
Sunday 20th December cross country training will be at Haughley Park by kind invitation of Stowmarket Striders.

Pacers Christmas Run
This will take place on Sunday 28th December at Nowton Park and is open to all members. We will have our usual cross country drills and a steady run around the park of around 5k so juniors/walkers are all welcome. Festive attire is encouraged but optional. Afterwards we will gather for mince pies/tea/coffee and maybe even some mulled win. More details, including timings, will be sent nearer to the date.

Pacers Awards Evening
If you were lucky enough to win a trophy last year can you please give it to myself, Annie or Ian at track/xc training/a race by the end of November so we can get them all engraved for next year’s winners.

More details for the evening, which will follow a similar format to last year with food, games and awards at the Cricket Club beside Nowton Park, on Friday 16th January, soon.
