Hello All,

I hope you enjoyed another warm weekend of running. With Bury St Edmunds parkrun off lots of Pacers went ‘on tour’ running at Thornham Walks, Stowmarket, Ben’s Yard, Thetford and Mildenhall. Some of us made it as far as Osterley in London 😂 One I highly recommend as pretty and most of all flat! Do let me know if you reach a parkrun milestone or achievement, parkrun is not a race and so there are so many different ways to celebrate success.

I didn’t spot any races on this weekend, I know a fair few are signed up for the Newmarket Half this weekend and there are still spaces if anyone is interested in supporting a local club and race.

Fish and Chip Run – Friday 29th August 

Please keep an eye on your inbox for an email from Annie about this one, sign up closes tomorrow so there is still plenty of time to join us. Everyone is welcome to this social evening, with a 5k run and fish and chips after in the village hall.

Track Challenge – Monday 1st September 

Thank you to everyone who has signed up to this race! We are currently full in all races. If you can no longer run please let me know as we have reserves for each race. There will be an email to all of those entered next week and we will do our best to ensure everyone who wants to run can do so.

We will also have a Charity cake stall on the night – it would be great if members can bring along a baked good to help support this please.

Track Fees

Just another reminder about track fees as we have been notified that Abbeycroft will be increasing the price by over 6% from 1st September. We currently just about cover the cost of track hire with track fees – thank you to all those who pay. If you are a senior member and want to use the track on a regular basis, you do need to pay £6 per month to help cover these costs. The committee will discuss the 2026-27 track fee in January. You can set up a standing order via the information below:

Track training takes place every Monday and Wednesday at 6.30pm at West Suffolk Arena at Abbeycroft Leisure. All members are welcome to both sessions and you can pay per month or set up a standing order. Sessions are posted on the website in advance. The bank details are below:
