Little Dip and Cake!

Hi All,

Another busy week of running! With the final Masters Athletics League taking place and some amazing results with most of the events covered too. The team are waiting to hear if they made the final.

At the Snetterton 5k and 10k races midweek there were a number of PBs including for Andrew Ward, Dakuro Fibereisma, Alex De Moore and Stacey Mockford, well done all. It was also one of the first races for one of our social members Hetty Keyes, who completed the 10k in just under an hour. Super stuff!

On Saturday three Pacers took on the Little Dipper, with Sandra Webb finishing second female overall and winning her age category. While Tom Kingsnorth finished ninth overall. Apparently the overall elevation was 750m! Great work Sandra, Vince and Tom, huge kudos to you all!

It was also a social week for the club, with our annual run and bbq from Cavendish Cricket Club. Thank you to Nick and Linda Burton for hosting us and for Annie Richardson for helping to organise. On Sunday the social runners took on the Hoblyn Half and swim – thank you to Tom for hosting us and for all those who baked a cake. This Sunday we will be running from Cath and Ben’s in Rougham. 10k and 10 mile routes and everyone welcome at 9am, meeting and parking at Rougham Sports Hall, IP30 9JN. We have an exciting schedule of Sunday runs planned before cross country training starts on 28th September. A group will still head out on Sundays for a 10 miler through the winter too!

Sunday 10th August Rougham
Sunday 17th August Drinkstone
Sunday 24th August Charity Fundraiser hosted by Colin
Sunday 31st August Rougham Sunflowers
Sunday 21st September Knettishall Heath

There will not be a social run weekend of 13/14th September due to Round Norfolk Relay.

Saxon 5 Entries Open
Just a quick note to let you know this local race is open for entries and is a great one for anyone looking for an Autumn 5 miler.

Track Fee Reminder
Hiring the track is the biggest expense we incur as a club, it is particularly expensive in the winter months where have to pay per minute that we have the lights on. The committee understands that not all members want to train on the track, so our membership allow you to join and then pay a separate track fee of £6 per month if you want to train on the track.
Track training takes place every Monday and Wednesday at 6.30pm at West Suffolk Arena at Abbeycroft Leisure. All members are welcome to both sessions and you can pay per month or set up a standing order. Sessions are posted on the website in advance. The bank details are below:

The Committee has been made aware some members are attending sessions and not paying the fee. We will be in touch with these members but do let myself or Richard, our Treasurer who is cc’d in, know if you have any questions.

Club Photos and Videos
From time to time, the club posts photos and videos onto our social media pages and website. If you do not want your or your children’s photo to be posted on these channels the club has purchased red wristbands for those who do not wish to be featured. We would appreciate if you can let us know and then also try to wear your wristnband so your photos are not used. We love to publicise all the fantastic running but we also appreciate that not everyone wants to have their photos or videos shared. The wristbands are now available on Mondays and Wednesdays from the club hut or please do speak with a committee member on the best way for you to collect one.
