Friday Five, Kesgrave 10k, Pizza’s and Ice Cream run
Dear All,
On Friday we had our annual Friday 5 at Nowton Park, with a whole plethora of Pacers running and helping to make sure this event was a success. A huge thanks to Andy Wright, Ian Gooderham and Sandra Webb for their work on making sure the race ran smoothly. On the running side, well done to Joshua Wigmore, Katie King, Stacey Mockford and Stephen Mead for winning their age category prizes. There was also success for the Women’s team of Gem Carter, Natasha Michael and Katie King and for junior Vincent Park in the Under Year Four race. Thank you so much to everyone who helped on the night – we had lots of comments about our amazing marshalls and the race.
We then had a warm but very fun run from Hartest on Saturday evening followed by pizza – thank you so much to Tom Kingsnorth for organising this one. Annie sent an email over the weekend regarding our next summer social at Cavenham Cricket Club so do make sure you are signed up.
Finally on Sunday many took on the flat but again warm course at Kesgrave 10k where there were a number of PBs and age category wins including Laila McNeill (U15 Girl), Kyan McNeill (U11 Boy), Katie King (Senior Female), Stacey Mockford (V40), Jenny Morgan (V60), James O’Brien (V45) and Mike Greener (V50). Congratulations to everyone who ran.
There were also a number of Pacers out at non-running events including Emily Gooderham, Chris Harman, Josh Clarke-Davis and Bryan Churchard at the Turf Games and Lara Franklin, who won her age category at Challenge Gdansk. Well done all!
Sunday Social – 29th June – Ice Cream Run!! 8.30am
I know everyone looks forward to this one, a run and a visit to the ice cream shop in Lavenham. We will have both 10k and 10 mile options with speeds to suit all so everyone is very much welcome to this run. Please meet at The Market Cross (CO10 9QZ), there is plenty of free parking in the Market Square and at Church Street Car Park (CO10 9SA), where there are also toilets. Ian will make sure there is water halfway round the route but do make sure you bring your own if you think you will need it as it’s meant to be hot.
Please note because of the heat we will be setting off at 8.30am SHARP from The Market Cross so please make sure you are there in plenty of time to run as we are not going to be able to wait for you.
We have kindly got some other dates scheduled in for Sunday Socials, including the 10th August from Cath’s house in Rougham and on 24th August Colin Lewis is arranging a route to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK. If you can help with a route/cafe/tea stop one Sunday it would be great to have a few more scheduled in so please do let me know.
Have a great week and hopefully see lots of you on Sunday.
