Hi All, 

It was the penultimate race of the Friday 5 series at Stowmarket to kick off the weekend and once again many Pacers took part. Well done to Joshua Wigmore who was third overall, Katie King for winning the ladies division and to Nicky Bennett, Fiona Cunnington and Stephen Mead for winning their age categories. In the Junior races there was a win for Vincent Parker in the Year Fours and under -amazing! The final race is at Great Bentley this week – a fast course so doubt there will be a number of PBs and some great running.

On Sunday a number of Pacers took on the Newmarket 10k, which always seems to be a warm race and has a fair few hills! Well done to Andrew Southwood and Stacey Mockford for winning their age categories and to everyone who ran. We also enjoyed a social run around the beautiful trails of Lavenham and ice cream at the Parlour. We have a few social runs planned for over the summer but if you would like to host a route from any venue do let me know. Please keep an eye on WhatsApp if you fancy a social run on Sunday – with most of us at Ekiden Relay a small group might arrange a run.

A note from Andy Wright regarding Friday 5 at Bury:

“Thank you to everyone who helped to make the Friday Five go smoothly. It only works so well because so many of you get involved from set up, marshalling, car parking, tail runners and clearing up. A big thank you to Sandra for organising the marshalling and Ian for doing everything else. The event always has a good atmosphere and the marshalls help make that happen. Even if they do upset some of the locals for being too noisy but you can’t please everyone. Again, a big thank you.”

Pacers Grand Prix Latest Results 

The latest results from the Kesgrave 10k have now been added to the Pacers Grand Prix, with changes at the top for a number of the categories. The next race is the Wibbly Wobbly Log Jog which has sold out but entries are still open for Framlingham 10k in September.

Behind the Memorial Hall (brown tourist sign showing ‘Village Hall & Sports Ground’) CO10 8AD

It’s on the right about 1/4mile after you enter the village from Long Melford.

PARKING:

In the Memorial Hall car park with overspill through gate onto cricket outfield (turn left through gate).

BBQ:

There will be burgers or hot dogs together with salad and new potatoes for your £8 entry fee. Additional ones can be purchased on the evening – cards accepted. Fruit pudding will also be included.

Dietary requirements will be taken into account.

FACILITIES:

Female & Male changing rooms, showers and toilets.

A well stocked bar with beer, wines and spirits.

Credit / Debit cards accepted as well as cash.

ROUTE:

95% along well worn footpaths with 1 minor road to cross (with caution).

Nick will be run leader.

4.5k ish
