Club update 16th June

Dear All,

Although light on the race front, it was a lovely weekend for Team Pacers with our pacing event at parkrun on Saturday then a bumper turnout for the social run at West Stow. Adventures were had for those taking on the ten miles, with a few wrong turns and a lot of laughs apparently! Us steady 10k runners enjoyed some scenic venues and lots of sand. The ten milers shared a story of how they were chased across a field of horses which brings us onto the actual Man V Horse which took place in Wales on Saturday. Well done to Matt Roe for running the route of 22 miles and over 1000m of elevation – apparently this year Man won! Over the pond Todd Lewis and Rob Wallace took the Hyrox World Championships in Chicago on Sunday, well done.

This week sees our Friday 5 taking place at Nowton Park on Friday. We are well supported with volunteers and as there are races for everyone do make sure you get signed up!

There is also the annual Pizza Run on Saturday evening and then Kesgrave 10k on Sunday, a race that many have entered as it is not only a quick course but also part of the Pacers Grand Prix.

With lots of people racing at Kesgrace and the Pizza Run on Saturday, we may not have a Sunday Social this week but do keep an eye on Whatsapp to see if something is arranged.

Have a great week and see many of you over the weekend at the various events.

Lara
