Dear All,

A slightly earlier update this weekend ahead of our final cross country race at Haverhill this morning. Thank you to everyone who has helped out so far at these races and well done to ever single runner who has raced for the club, we have gone into the final race in a good position and hopefully we have another good day today. The presentation evening will be on Friday 6th March at the White Hart in Newmarket, more details to follow. There is also a small team heading to the Stamford Striders 30k today, I hope you all have good races. If you fancy some social miles on the road, then there is a group heading out at 9am from Abbeycroft this morning.

Next weekend is a big one for the club, with 800 runners taking place at our Tarpley 10 and 20 milers. The cake stall needs you! Our cakes will be raising funds for MS UK and if you are able to bring along some baked goods to help that would be amazing.

A few updates for you this week:

Nowton Park – New Car Park Barrier
You may have seen the message below if you are a permit holder but it could be relevant to those of you who park regularly at Nowton or for events held in the Park.

Owing to the number of unauthorised encampments on site last year, and the disruption they created, the Council have taken the decision to install a height restriction barrier by the front gate of Nowton Park.

We hope to install the new barrier in early April 2026. The barrier will restrict vehicles higher that 2.1 metres high (7ft). We have the same height of barrier currently in place at Hardwick Heath car park.

If your vehicle is higher than 2.1metres high, it will not be able to access the site in the future.

Prostate Cancer Support
Last weekend we raised money for Prostate Cancer UK and a member has got in contact to share the local support groups which may be of interest to anyone affected by this disease.
