Fabulous turnout for Bungay XC

Hi All,

Well done to all of those who took on the fourth race of the Suffolk Winter League Cross Country at Bungay earlier today. The results will be out in a week or two but it looks as though we had another strong contingent of Pacers to help us defend our crown. A reminder that the next races are:

8th February – Pakenham (Bury)
15th February – Horseheath (Haverhill)

The awards evening will be in Newmarket, date tbc but likely a Friday in early May.

For those who cannot get enough of the course at Bungay (Woburn Farm), the Wednesday Cross Country League are back there this week. More details on this are here.

Further away from Suffolk, and a lot muddier, windier and hillier, this week sees the UTMB Arc of Attrition in Cornwall. A huge congratulations to Mike Greener for taking on the 50 mile Arc and winning his age group! This is an insane achievement in a UTMB race. George Allen is currently tackling the 25 mile event, good luck George.

Webinar with Sports Dietician Renee McGregor
A reminder that this event will take place this Thursday (29th January) at 6pm via Zoom. I will send a link to all members on this list to join the webinar in the next few days, if you cannot make it live, we will also circulate a recording. A reminder on what this will cover, friends and family who support you and your running are also welcome:

Many of us runners want to ensure that we optimise our behaviours around training in order to ensure we maximise performance. With many of us also living busy lives, whilst also being informed and influenced by societal messages, it is easy for us to become derailed and not appreciate that we are engaging in behaviours more harmful to our running. This is why we are putting on a special education evening to provide you and your family with information on the importance of fueling, how to train appropriately, and also become aware of potential risks that can literally stop you in your tracks.
