A busy Bank Holiday weekend, with the Ipswich Twilight, parkrun adventures, Breckland 10k and the Milton Keynes running festival.
At the Twilight event, Chris Mower scored a club record with a 17.24 over the 5k distance! He then followed it up with a fine run at Breckland in 38.07, share your secrets with us all Chris! Also at the Twilight event there were brilliant PBs for Izzy Hollands (20.50) and Issy Free (20.00), with Jenny Morgan running well to finish in 23.38 with her fastest time this year.
At Breckland, Jacob Griffin ran a superb race to finish third overall in 34.18! Lara Franklin then made her 10k debut and won the ladies division in 38.28, followed by Stacey Mockford in 2nd. There were age category wins for Katie Margarson and Colin Knight. Julie Dale ran a brilliant race to achieve a new PB and a sub 50 in 49.59, what brilliant pacing.
The Breckland 10k was also the latest race in the Pacers Grand Prix, many of the races are open for entries and there is plenty of time to rack up the points and win a trophy this year!
Ipswich Track Challenge (Sub 20 mins, 20-23 mins, 23 plus entry forms, only one spot left in the first two races so we will then go to a wait list, if you can no longer run please let Kieron know)
There is NO social run on Sunday due to the Stephen Williams 10k – entries will remain open for this race until Saturday evening 🙂 We will have a charity cake stall raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis UK at the race so please do come armed with some baked goods on the day.
Good luck to those competing in the Masters Athletics tomorrow, there will be no track training due to this event.
A quick save the date for our annual AGM, which will take place on the Thursday 2nd July, venue TBC. If you would like to run for a committee position, more details will follow shortly.
