Hello All,
It was another busy weekend for our members – with the racing season in full swing and a lovely social run at Knettishall Health on Sunday.
There was some debate on what the headline event should be for this email but I think with a Pacer 1-2-3-4, a new course record and the race director being one of members the Fields and Forest Ultra deserves the top spot. Well done to Colin Lewis for organising another brilliant event. Chris Mower cruised round the 34 mile course in record time of 4.23 to win overall, followed by Mike Greener who also looked strong at the finish in 4.32. They were closely followed by Nicky Bennett in third who claimed the First Lady prize and Sophie Seward in fourth. Both of these ladies also smashed the old ladies course record and ran superbly. Well done to Hayden Forder for finishing your first ultra, not currently a member but known by many of us! This is a seriously amazing set of results – well done to all the runners and thank you to their amazing supporters who kept everyone up to date on course.
Berlin Marathon
This was a warm affair for a World Major and there were lots of worries from back of the packers about cut offs and water supplies. We had two members tackle the 26.2 this year and both sailed round. Congratulations to Chris Poulding who finished in 2.40 and Sandra Webb in 3.41 – this is impressive running in the conditions!
Ipswich Half
A lot of Pacers were at this popular event and with cooler conditions there were plenty of PBs including for Mat Norris, Fran Cole and Mark Davis – congratulations all! Katie King finished third lady overall and Aidan Elmore was first Pacers home. Well done all on the fantastic running.
Harling 10k
Well done to Stacey Mockford who got a new PB and sixth lady overall. Stacey has had a brilliant year and keeps smashing out the PBs!
Cross Country Training
This will resume at Nowton Park on Sunday – everyone welcome. We will do drills starting at 9am and have coffee in the cafe after. You can come and do as much or as little as you like, we usually run 5-6 miles per session.
