Dear All,

With it being Bank Holiday weekend Pacer parkrunners were out across Suffolk, Essex, Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Kent, North Wales and as far a Milano Nord in Italy! I hope everyone enjoyed their Saturday 5ks.

Meanwhile Chris Harman, Emily Gooderham, Josh Clarke-Davis, Bryan Churchard and Ryan Burrows all took on Farm Games on Saturday – this looked like a tough event involving running, weights, hurdling and goodness knows what else! Well done all.

On Sunday the local event with a number of Pacers running was the local Newmarket Joggers Trail Half Marathon. This was the first running of this event and they are planning to have it again next year with a Marathon option. Although a tough route with no Marshalls or signs and the warm weather it was lovely to support a local club, well done to all those who ran and thank you to Gem for coming to support and cheer!

Also on Sunday was a big event in London – the lndx challenge. Well done to James O’Brien for an incredible 2nd place in this 10k with a time of 31.56 – what a great PB for James!

And finally we have world record holders in the club! Well done to Christine Anthony who was part of the 4 x 800m v60 relay team who achieved the world record breaking run on Sunday. Christine was joined by Elke Hausler, who is a second claim Pacer member, Clare Elms and Virginia Mitchell on this amazing feat. Congratulations Christine, Elke, Clare and Virginia!

Sunday Social – 31st August

The social run this Sunday will be from Rougham Sunflowers subject to if the field is still open on Sunday. Please do keep an eye on the WhatsApp group for confirmation.

Monday 1st September – training

Due to the track challenge tracking part at Abbeycroft Leisure, there will be no training for any group. If you are not running do pop down to the track to cheer on your team mates and maybe bring a cake or baked good for our charity stall.

Save the Dates 

A few people have been asking for the Cross Country Winter League dates. Ian is attending the AGM on Friday and will confirm the six event dates then. The league will likely kick off in Framlingham as usual on 26th October. Our home leg will be Sunday 8th February and the County Champs will be 4th January at Hadleigh. I will make sure to include full league dates as soon as I can in these emails.

Our annual celebration and awards will once again be a Friday evening in January, I should be able to confirm a date for this in my next email.
