We are very glad to re-introduce the club standards scheme which many clubs all over the country already run.
The Pacers Club Standards are intended to motivate and encourage all members by giving them age graded targets to work towards regardless of individual ability at 5km, 5 miles, 10km, 10 miles, half marathon, 15 miles, 20 miles and marathon. Achievements will be rewarded by a certificate after verification by the Club Standards Secretary.
We will also be introducing a similar scheme for our junior members with distances ranging from 400m to 2 Miles for the under 13s and 15s and 400m to 5Miles for the under 17s. Again, achievements will be rewarded by certificate.
Application forms for Club Standards can be found on this page as a download. Once completed, all seniors’ forms should be forwarded to the Club Standards Secretary and the juniors’ forms to Terry Rigby. All applications should be submitted together with confirmation of timings, i.e. race results sheet or newspaper clippings. Juniors are also able to submit timings provided by their club coach.
Standards will be recognised from 01 July 2008 onwards; no retrospective results will be eligible for verification.
Updates on who has achieved standards will be printed in each edition of The Pace, so come on guys, get those applications rolling in.
Happy running!
