The Pacers successfully defended their National title with an emphatic win at Bramcote Park. Run over one of the toughest courses we ever run, everyone was delighted to hear that next year the final moves to Derby on March 19th.
The hills however proved no problem for Andrew Taylor who won the race by a clear margin. Peter Foody in the middle of marathon training also showed his strength with an excellent 6th place. Also finishing in the top 10 Peter Barker last years winner finished 9th and Peter Golding 10th and with Kevin Vaughan 19th Gary Copeland 23rd and Ashley Gimson 27th the Pacer men’s scoring team all finished in the top 30.
Gill Leathers in 3rd place led the ladies home with Cheryl Heath in 7th and Sam Cadman in 9th both having fine runs. In all 26 Pacers ran and all contributed to the success of the team. Reading finished second team and Liverpool AC third.
