| This is the route of
the old Bury 10 road race and is therefore accurately measured but I'm not too
certain of the precise start and finish point of the course, perhaps someone can
provide this information.
If you start and
finish at the Bury end of Rusbrooke Lane you can be sure that you have done
10miles and a few yards. From the start point run the length of Rusbrooke Lane
and at the T junction turn left. Take the next left turn and run down the
incline and past the sewage works. Filter onto the link road from the A14 to
Rougham and follow the road through Blackthorpe. Note the telephone box on the
right, just in case of an emergency. Take the next turning on the left and run
past the local school and church. At the T junction turn right and carry on to
the next T junction. Turn left and follow the road round to the left until the
next T junction. Again turn left and take the first turning on the right. You
are now back on the outward part of the course. Retrace your steps back to the
start / finish.
